General Questions:

Are baby joggers, strollers, or pets allowed on the course?

Baby Joggers/Strollers
Yes, baby joggers and strollers are allowed. You must include your child’s information during your registration (there is no additional charge). If you did not include your child during registration, please visit the Solutions Booth at the Sports & Fitness Expo to add your child.

Baby joggers and strollers are not allowed in corrals 1-2, so you must be in corral 3 or higher and seed yourself at the back of your assigned corral. It is your responsibility to make sure your baby jogger/stroller does not impede other runners, and you must take extra precaution to ensure your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any participant from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.

Pets are not permitted in any of the J&A Racing events.

What do I get for my entry fee?

All 5K participants will receive a tank top and 1K participants will receive a short-sleeve cotton shirt. All finishers will receive a unique finisher’s medal and finisher’s gift. All participants are invited to the post-race festivities!  Be sure to bring your race number to the post-race party as it is your ticket for beer (ages 21 and up) and food.

What are the age limits for the races?

The 1K is for children ages 12 and under. Parents who wish to run with their children in the 1K must sign up for a free guardian bib during registration or packet pick-up.

Are headphones allowed during the race?

Headphones are allowed; however, we strongly encourage participants to abstain from using headphones during this race.

If I have a child participating in the 1K, will I be able to run with them?

Yes, adults accompanying a child during the 1K will need to sign up for a guardian bib during their child’s registration or at packet pick-up in order to be allowed on the course. Guardian bibs must be picked up with the child’s 1K bib at packet pick-up.  If you plan to run with multiple children, only one guardian bib is necessary. Each child is limited to one guardian on the course. This bib must be visible and placed on your front, not on your side or on your back, and not obstructed by a jacket. Adults who are not wearing a guardian bib will be restricted from entering the course. Parents who are already signed up for the 5K can wear their 5K bib on the 1K course. Race shirts and finisher medals are for children with 1K race bibs only. This is a closed-in 1K course, so guardians are not needed or required for children to run.  If you choose not to run with your child, there will be a secure corral at the finish line where you will meet up with your child after their race.

Can I switch races?

No, you may not switch your 5K race entry to any other J&A Racing event.

Can I defer my entry to next year?

No, we do not allow deferrals for this J&A Racing event.

Will I receive a refund if I cannot attend?

J&A Racing has a no refund policy.

Minimum Two-Year Event Ban for Unauthorized Runners
Our past races have been marred by numerous participants running under the guise of someone else’s race number.  While this may seem harmless to the parties perpetrating the unauthorized bib transfer, it does convey serious consequences to the organizers and participant field alike.

From race results to finishers’ awards being impacted, as well as medical staff being able to correctly identify participants in need of treatment, it is imperative that the registration data associated with your race number does in fact belong to you, the participant.

Thus, if race organizers become aware that a runner has participated in one of our events with a bib that is not registered to that runner, both the runner and the person to whom the bib is registered will be prohibited from participating in subsequent J&A Racing events for a minimum of two years.
